I am sorry that this poem doesn’t rhyme
I am sorry that this poem lacks similes and metaphors
I am sorry that this poem is offensive to extroverts
This is for people who are always talked over
The amazing people you will miss out on
Because you focus on the loudest fellow in the room
The world is too noisy, isn’t it?
And I have led too dull a life to blabber in a crowd
I do not give the audience goosebumps
Nor do I know exactly what to say and how to say
I do not know how do people frame sentences without writing them down before
I do not greet people with a charismatic extroverted smile
I sip my drink at a house party and talk with the household pets
I cover my face with my long hairs
Or stay glued to my mobile screen just to avoid a conversation
I do not get my punchline right
Nor I am good at sarcasm
Nor my sense of humor can win hearts
But I scribble
I hide behind sheets, notebooks, and word documents
I can make your soul collapse with paragraphs and verses
I can tickle your funny bones and make your breath choke
I can fill your mind with the sunlight
I can make you sob at 2 am on your living room couch with my words
I can send chills through your veins with the horror stories in my novel
I can make you blush with romantic love tales
I can transport you anywhere on this planet
But you never heard me or saw me because I am shy
So I picked up my pen and began to write
And I will write until I can sprinkle stardust on this planet
Because medicine, business, law, and engineering are necessary for livelihood
But poetry?
Poetry is what the world stays alive for
